 Gospel Jn 16:12-15

Jesus said to his disciples:

"I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.

But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,

he will guide you to all truth.

He will not speak on his own,

but he will speak what he hears,

and will declare to you the things that are coming.

He will glorify me,

because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.

Everything that the Father has is mine;

for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine

and declare it to you."

Reflections

 Jesus declared  that he still had many things to communicate to his disciples but the fact that they were already emotionally troubled when he informed them that he is going away deterred him. Yet he promised them that the Spirit whom he and the Father  would send would carry forward all that He did. Jesus assures them that the Spirit would guide them into all the truths so that whoever received the holy Holy Spirit will lead others to the truth.

And look, he is speaking openly and they say nothing to him. Could the authorities have realized that he is the Christ? But we know where he is from. When the Christ comes, no one will know where he is from." So Jesus cried out in the temple area as he was teaching and said, "You know me and also know where I am from. Yet I did not come on my own, but the one who sent me, whom you do not know, is true. I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me." So they tried to arrest him, but no one laid a hand upon him, because his hour had not yet come.   Reflection:  In today’s gospel we find J...
