 Gospel Jn 15:18-21

Jesus said to his disciples:

"If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.

If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own;

but because you do not belong to the world,

and I have chosen you out of the world,

the world hates you.

Remember the word I spoke to you,

'No slave is greater than his master.'

If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.

If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

And they will do all these things to you on account of my name,

because they do not know the one who sent me."

Reflections

Jesus reminds his disciples again and again that on his account the world will hate them because those whom he chose are to identify themselves away from worldly affairs. In the world full of misery and brokenness God ask us to be a guiding light where people find hope to move forward. Just like the three children where our Lady at Fatima appeared asking them to pray the rosary for the world. We are called to be the voice of Jesus to bring good news to the world. This demands sacrifice and commitment but Jesus has walk that road showing us that when we love even when everyone hate us salvation awaits us.

Activity:

Spend some time with yourself and see if there is anyone whom you have been  kind and considerate to,  inspite of being hurt by them.
