27 April, 2023 | Thursday of the Thrid Week of Easter | 20th Anniv. of Beatification of Bl. James Alberione (Founder of The Pauline Family)
Gospel Jn 6:44-51
Jesus said to the crowds:
"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him,
and I will raise him on the last day.
It is written in the prophets:
They shall all be taught by God.
Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me.
Not that anyone has seen the Father
except the one who is from God;
he has seen the Father.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes has eternal life.
I am the bread of life.
Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died;
this is the bread that comes down from heaven
so that one may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven;
whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my Flesh for the life of the world."
Reflection
Christ is the only person who can reveal God because he is the only one who truly knows God, and the incarnation of Christ has brought divine revelation. When He speaks of the Bread, he points to the Redemption by the Cross to the whole of humanity through his passion, death and resurrection and the institution of the Eucharist. The Lord’s prayer we recite, “Give us this day our daily bread,” refers not only to our temporal needs but, more specifically, to the Eucharist itself, our eternal manna.
Activity:
Prepare yourself before participating in the Eucharist, receive Christ lovingly in communion, and thank him for this special gift of His life.

Prayer to gain favours through the intercession of Blessed James Alberione
Lord, glorify Blessed James Alberione in your Church.
Let him be for all of us a light, guide and support
in the work of our sanctification and in our apostolate.
Open the way for evangelization through the media
so that the presence of Jesus Master,
the Way, Truth and Life, may shine on the world
through Mary, Mother and Queen of Apostles.
Grant me the grace I am praying for at this time.
Pray Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be.
