 Gospel Mt 18:21-35

Reflections :

This passage makes a vital link between God forgiving us and our forgiving others. Peter asks how many times he should forgive another. Jesus answers seven times. In other words it means that our readiness to forgive should be without limit.

God’s mercy towards each one of us shows us the way God wants each one of us to be merciful towards one another. In the process of forgiving others we free ourselves of the heavy burden we have been carrying. Unforgiveness emanates from our arrogance, pride and lack of humility. It is also a sign that we love ourselves more than we love Jesus. It is not easy to let go of our anger and hurt. But if we place our ill feelings into God’s hands, God will heal our resentment, hurt and anger.

Activity :

Place our burdens, your anger and pain in Jesus’ hands and make an attempt to forgive someone from the heart.
