 Gospel: Mk 3:20-21

Jesus came with his disciples into the house.
Again the crowd gathered,
making it impossible for them even to eat.
When his relatives heard of this they set out to seize him,
for they said, "He is out of his mind."

Reflection:

Jesus' family tried to restrain him as they were  concerned of what people talked about Him and for the passion with which Jesus lived and served people around ignoring even his need for food. It must have been really tough for Jesus when people closest to Him fail to grasp the core message and purpose of His ministry and were embarrassed by what He did. Jesus  had to ignore the hope of many of his disciples that He would be an earthly king,  but instead accept death on the cross which was most disgraceful death a Jew can ever imagine. How do we deal with the expectations or hindrances that others places in our way, sometimes even with good intention on their part, while we pursue our true calling?  We pray that we may become more like Christ who became human like us, in everything but sin.

Action Plan:

We pray for the inner convictions and courage to live to our calling; against our own ego, and all other voices that pulls us apart.
