Lk 13:18-21

Jesus said, “What is the Kingdom of God like?

To what can I compare it?

It is like a mustard seed that a man took and planted in the garden.

When it was fully grown, it became a large bush

and the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches.”

Again he said, “To what shall I compare the Kingdom of God?

It is like yeast that a woman took

and mixed in with three measures of wheat flour

until the whole batch of dough was leavened.”

Reflection:

Most people are inspired by this parable  to start small, but start somewhere or something. It takes a drop to make the ocean, and a second to complete an hour! So even the reign of God in our lives and then to the lives of others starts from small and invisible or unnoticeable acts of charity. Very often we think, whats the use of doing acts of charity, when no one is watching. But the point is acts of charity are most appreciated and valued by the one who watches us all the time, and not by human persons, who have a limited capacity for appreciation or not at all! So remember , that every act of charity is a booster for someone else to be inspired, and also the goodwill towards you, from the one whom it is done for. Even if they are blind, your charity act will not go unnoticed, but written in 'books' and will be repaid, when you least expect it, and even more if you do not expect to  be repaid.

Activity :

Do three acts of charity, when no one is around.
